Hey guys! With the Edmonton PUA Seminar now done, I have a bit of time to focus on the blog again! Big changes in my Life (future post - be on the lookout) but for now I'm going to throw this one up!
Alright, so I'm sure many of you have heard about how important the start of your day is. A couple examples of this:
- Eating breakfast in the morning.
- Giving yourself enough time so you are not rushing in the morning (in turn being late for work, class, ETC).
Both of these examples set your day off on the right foot -> in turn making you much more productive, and also, POSITIVE. Lately I've been experimenting with an idea of my own.
It's 6am in the morning. Your alarm clock just went off. What will be your typical reaction?
Mine always involved a negative thought - FUCK!
Now, is that really the way I want to start off my day? The first action of the day - a negative one. How much did that affect and foreshadow the rest of my day?
So I came up with this idea. As soon as my alarm clock went off, I would shout (with excitement): YES!
Even initially, I noticed a huge difference in my mood, and outlook of the day. After a week straight of doing this, I reflected and my results were the same. Much more positive, better outlook.
There is another example of this type of re-framing. In the movie/book 'The Secret', it suggests that when you wake up in the morning, the first thing you should do is say THANK YOU (outloud). After watching the movie I also tried this out, and noticed the same results: better outlook, much more positive. It was humbling.
Until next time.
